Additional information

In analogy to the NTA acid the long-term toxicity to fish was investigated with the salt Na3NTA.

Arthur et al. (1974) reports a 228 d NOEC of > 54 mg/L for survival and reproduction for the fathead minnow, Pimephales promelas. The study was performed by exposing 3 -15 day old fry. Mortality, spawing activity and hatchability were assessed. Additionally a flow through study with larvae of several fish species is available [Birge, 1979]. The lowest effect values were determined for Oncorhynchus mykiss with a 27 d LC50 of 90.5 mg/L.
