Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The results indicate that the organic portion of the test material is highly soluble (>500 g/kg) in fat.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Solubility in mg/100g standard fat:
50
At the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Testing was conducted to GLP standards in accordance with OECD guideline 116.

Preliminary testing showed that the some components of the test material were fat soluble and others were not.

A definitive procedure was conducted to establish relative fat solubility of the different components of the test material. Of the balance of the material it is likely that the diluent base oil is miscible with fat based on structure, whilst the inorganic salts calcium carbonate and calcium hydroxide are expected to be insoluble. Indeed light coloured powdery material, assumed to be salts was also observed in each sample.

The results thus broadly indicate that the organic portion of the test material is highly soluble (>500 g/kg) in fat.
