Additional information

As the test substance (CAS 91744-39-7, Glycerides, C16-18 mono-, di- and tri-, hydrogenated, citrates, sodium salts) is readily biodegradable further studies regarding the endpoints "Simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water", "Sediment simulation testing", as well as "Identification of degradation products" (REACH Annex IX, endpoints 9.2.1.2, 9.2.1.3, 9.2.1.4, and 9.2.3), as well as a hydrolysis study (REACH Annex VIII, endpoint 9.2.2.1, column 2) and investigations regarding adsorption/desorption (REACH Annex VIII, endpoint 9.3.1 and REACH Annex IX, endpoint 9.3.3) do not have to be conducted.

Data regarding the aquatic bioaccumulation of the test substance are not available. However, bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms is assumed to be low because the substance is readily biodegradable. In addition, triglycerides are widely used as food ingredients and do not present a hazard to humans or animals. Glyceride citrate stearates are readily metabolised into the fatty acid part, glycerol and citric acid, which feed into physiological pathways.
