Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
Toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods
The lethal concentration (LC50) of sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate in soil macroorganism [Eisenia fetida (worms)] in a long term toxicity study of 14 days on the basis of mortality effect was estimated to be 2600 mg/kg soil dw.Considering that the chemical is readily biodegradable in soil,it is expected that the chemical sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate shall not exhibit toxicity to soil macroorganism.
Toxicity to terrestrial arthropods
The no obsereved effect level (NOEL) value of sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate in terrestrial arthropods (Neoseiulus cucumeris) in a 14 days study on the basis of mortality effect was estimated to be 142.733 mg/l.Considering that the chemical is readily biodegradable in soil,it is expected that the chemical sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate shall not exhibit toxicity to terrestrial arthropods.
Toxicity to terrestrial plants
The effective concentration (EC50) of sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate in terrestrial plants (Lactuca sativa) in short term toxicity study of 72 hrs. on the basis of reproduction effect was estimated to be 143.2 mg/kg soil dw.Considering that the chemical is readily biodegradable in soil,it is expected that the chemical sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate shall not exhibit toxicity to terrestrial plants.
Toxicity to soil microorganisms
The low observed effect level (LOEL) value of sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate in soil microorganisms (Metarhizium anisopliae) in a 21 days study on the basis of population effect was estimated to be 233.48 mg/l.Considering that the chemical is readily biodegradable in soil,it is expected that the chemical sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate shall not exhibit toxicity to soil microorganisms.
Toxicity to birds
No information on toxicity to birds available. Toxicity to birds is not a standard information requirement in Annex IX. Moreover, as the substance is not toxic to mammals (not classified for toxicity) no further toxicity testing on birds is proposed.
Toxicity to other above-ground organisms
No experimental data in addition to those presented under CSR Chapter 5 is available. This is not a standard information requirement for environment in REACH.
