Description of key information
In a guideline study on the biodegradation of DIDS, performed to GLP, the respiration of the inoculum (river water) was not significantly inhibited by DIDS at 2 mg/L after 7 days of treatment (NOEC: 2 mg/L) (van Ginkel, 2013).

In a GLP ready biodegradability study, conducted in accordance with OECD Guideline 301D, inhibition of the endogenous respiration of the inoculum (river water) by the test substance at day 7 at an initial high concentration of 2 mg/L was not detected (van Ginkel, 2013).
