In the OECD 301D ready biodegradation test, 8% degradation of 2-(dimethylamino)-2-methylpropan-1-ol (DMAMP)

was observed after 28 days. In the OECD 301 F ready biodegradation test, no biodegradation was observed in the 28-day test period, though there were indications of at least partial microbial inhibition at the concentration tested. Only slow biodegradation of the test substance is expected in water and sediment. In accordance with Annex IX, column 2, 9.2. of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, testing is not required since the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates no need to investigate further the degradation of DMAMP.
