Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

B-TTEGME has no explosive properties

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

According to the chemical structure and the list of reactive groups that could have explosive properties (Bretherick’s Handbook of Reactive Chemical Hazards, Butterworths, 4th edition) it can be excluded that B-TTEGME has explosive properties.

Furthermore the determination of the thermal stability of the test substance by DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) showed that between 30°C and 400°C the decomposition energy is about -52 kJ/kg and therefore well below the limit of -500 kJ/kg given in the Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures, Chapter 2.1.4.3. (c).

Based on this information - which is considered to be reliable and relevant - B-TTEGME is considered to have no explosive properties

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on this information - which is considered to be reliable and relevant - B-TTEGME is considered to have no explosive properties and hence classification and labelling is not needed
