The physical state and appearance of the test substance were assessed according to EPA guideline OPPTS 830.6303 (Ulama, 2010).

Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
solid
Form:
cream / paste

The test substance is a solid paste in the form of lumps.

The flammability of the read across substance, DDAC, was determined according to EU Method A.10 (Schulze, 2007).

Flammability:
not classified

The structurally similar substance DDAC (CAS No. 7173-51-5), was inflammable within 2 min by the hot flame of a gas burner but did not spread out over a distance of 200 mm within 4 min (Schulze M, 2007). Thus, the test substance, C12 -18 DAQ does not need to be classified as highly flammable.

Based on the results from the read across study, the test substance does not warrant a classification for flammability according to EU CLP criteria (Regulation EC 1272/2008).
