Additional information

As the substance is also naturally occurring and its uptake and metabolism is highly regulated in organisms no negative effects on terrestrial organisms are to be expected. The substance is considered as inherently biodegradable and is very fast photochemically degraded based on a calculated half life of 1.7 h (AOPWIN 1.92, 06.02.2007). Therefore, no indirect or direct exposure of soil and sediment are to be expected and no tests on terrestrial organisms are required. Furthermore, the substance is commonly used as Vitamin E supplement and antioxidant in both food and feed applications.
