Description of first aid measures

If inhaled :

If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.

In case of skin contact :

Wash off with soap and plenty of water.

In case of eye contact :

Flush eyes with water as a precaution.

If swallowed :

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed :

To the best of our knowledge, the chemical, physical, and toxicological properties have not been thoroughly investigated.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing agents: Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents:Do not use water jet,Oxidizing agents.

Special hazards caused by the substance, its products of combustion or resulting gases:Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) like Carbon monoxide (CO), Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) in a fire.Can react vigorously with oxidizing materials.From fire; Smoke, Carbon dioxide, & Carbon Monoxide

Protective equipment:Wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

Wear chemical protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Person-related safety precautions:

Wear self contained respirator and full protective impervious suit. Use personal protective equipment.

Remove incapacitated workers from further exposure. Initiate the first aid measures / procedures.

Avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Measures for environmental protection:

Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.

Do not allow product to reach sewage system or any water course.

Measures for cleaning/collecting:

Remove all sources of ignition. Ventilate area of leak or spill.

Small Spill: Dilute with water and mop up, or absorb with an inert dry material and place in an appropriate waste disposal container.

Finish cleaning by spreading water on the contaminated surface and dispose of according to local and regional authority requirements.

Large Spill: Absorb with an inert material and put the spilled material in an appropriate waste disposal.

Finish cleaning by spreading water on the contaminated surface and allow to evacuate through the sanitary system.

Handling and storage

Information for safe handling:

Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this products.

Keep away from heat / sparks / open flames / hot surfaces.

Use personal protective equipment as required.

Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.

Empty containers pose a fire risk, evaporate the residue under a fume hood. Ground all equipment containing material.

Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.

Protect against physical damage and check regularly for leakages.

Untrained individuals should not handle this chemical or its container.

Do not ingest. Do not breathe gas/fumes/ vapour/spray

Apply according to good manufacturing and industrial hygiene practices with proper ventilation.

Information about fire - and explosion protection:

As with most organic solids, fire is possible at elevated temperatures or by contact with an ignition source.

Fine dust dispersed in air in sufficient concentrations, and in the presence of an ignition source is a potential dust explosion hazard.

Explosive in presence of oxidizing materials.

Storage:

Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles:

Store in tightly closed containers and in well ventilated area.

Information about storage in one common storage facility:

Store away from Strong oxidizing agents.

Use adequate general or local explosion proof ventilation to keep airborne levels to acceptable level.

Keep storage area clear of combustible materials. Ground all equipment containing material.

Store in locked cabinet or with access restricted to technical experts or their assistants.

Specific applications :

Polyethylene glycol used in medicines and toothpastes as a dispersant.

It also under investigation for use in body armor and tattoos to monitor diabetes.

It is used to make emulsifying agents and detergents, and as plasticizers, humectants, and water-soluble textile lubricants.

As water-sol lubricants for rubber molds, textile fibers & metal-forming operations, in food & food packaging, in cosmetics in general, in water paints, paper coatings, polishes, in ceramic industry,pharmaceutical aid (ointment & suppository base), vet: ointment base.

Personal protective equipment

Eye/face protection

Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166(EU).

Skin protection

Handle with gloves. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Use proper glove removal technique (without touching glove's outer surface) to avoid skin contact with this product. Dispose of contaminated gloves after use in accordance with applicable laws and good laboratory practices.

Wash and dry hands.

The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.

Body Protection

Respiratory protection

Respiratory protection not required. For nuisance exposures use type OV/AG (US) or type ABEK (EU EN 14387) respirator cartridges. Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided:

Incompatible materials, ignition sources, excess heat, flames, sparks, strong oxidants.

Materials to be avoided:

Avoid strong acids and bases; it may cause explosive decomposition with elevated temperature.

Avoid oxidizing agents and materials reactive with hydroxyl compounds.

Avoid contact with Incompatible substances like polymerization catalysts (peroxides, persulfates) and accelerators, strong oxidizers, strong bases and strong acids.

Dangerous reactions

Explosive decomposition may occur if combined with strong acids or strong bases and subjected to elevated temperatures.

Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide may form when heated to decomposition

Spill and waste disposal procedures approved by state and local authorities must be observed.

Labels should not be removed from containers until they have been cleaned and decontaminated.
