PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION
- Method: The test solution was prepared according to the national standard procedure (DEV S4): 10 g of the test substance was added to 1 L deionised water and shacked overhead for 24 h. The solution was filtered with a folded filter. The filtered solution was added directly to the test vessels.

No effects of the test substance in the range of water solubility were observed testing a saturated test solution which was subsequently filtered. Thus, an LC50 (96 h) greater then the highest tested concentration of 10 g/L is determined.

One study investigating the toxicity of Diisodecyl azelate (CAS 28472-97-1) to the orfe Leuciscus idus melanotus is available (Institut für gewerbliche Wasserwirtschaft und Luftreinhaltung e.V., 1993). The test substance is described as an unknown, variable composition, complex reaction product or biological material (UVCB) under REACH. This study was conducted according to OECD guideline 203 in a limit test with 10 g/L filtered test solution. No mortality or other adverse effects were reported after 96 hours exposure to the test substance, thus the LC50 (96 h) is greater than 10 g/L. Therefore, no toxicity within the range of water solubility of the test substance was observed.
