Additional information

2-chloro-5-nitrobenzoic acid is an organic substance, in solid form at 25°C and 1013 hPa.

Chemical/physical properties were predicted using the ACD/Labs’ ACD/PhysChem Suite and the US Environmental Protection Agency’s EPISuite™.

Boiling point and melting point were estimated at 343-356°C and 125.6, respectively, confirming that at room temperature substance is in solid form.

2-chloro-5-nitrobenzoic acid is soluble in water (experimental database match; EPISuite) and the affinity with the n-octanol phase is expected to be low, based on the LogKow value of 2.03 (experimental database match; EPISuite).

There are no data about autoflammable/flammable/explosive/oxidising properties; nevertheless evidences connected to the experience in handling of the substance confirm that there are no special concern in the usual conditions of production, stock, transport and use.

Any details about data available are reported in the report attached at the point 13: Assessment Report.
