Additional information

To appraise the octanol/water partition coefficient of this complex reaction product, this endpoint was experimentally measured in accordance with OECD testing guideline 117 and GLP requirements.

A range of octanol/water partition coefficient log values at pH 6.44 was obtained: 1.05 to 4.08. 75.1% of the components of this UVCB have Log Pow ranged from 1.05 to 1.86.

The chromatogram obtained by HPLC showed two groups of peaks. A first one gathered two close peaks (Log Pow: 1.05 and 1.86) representing more than 75% of the total area under the curve. The second appeared clearly later and gathered a broad group of components with Log Pow between 3.02 and 4.08 and represented less than 15% of all the complex reaction product.

The first group representing the most abundant components of this complex reaction product (>>10%), the highest log value (1.86) in this range was used for chemical safety assessment (CSA). The highest value was considered as a worst-case value, increase of n-octanol/water partition coefficient value leading to a significant increase of Predicted Environmental Concentration in sediments and soil.
