PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Data from EPI suit and ecotox data obtained from testing in accordance with OECD Test Guidelines has been used to assess the PBT potential of DMPC.

Ecotox data shows that both the LC50 and EC50 results obtained from OECD testing are well in excess of the <0.1 mg/L criterion for classification as toxic.  In addition DMPC is not classified as carcinogenic (cat 1A or 1B), cell mutagenic (category 1A or 1B) or toxic for reproduction (category 1A, 1B or 2).  Therefore DMPC it is not T.

The estimated Log Kow for DMPC is < 4.5 and so is not B and not vB.  In addition the bio accumulation factor for DMPC is 3.16 L/Kg (experimentally determined or estimated by valid QSAR EPI suit) below the > 2000 L/kg threshold for BCF.

Therefore the overall conclusion is that DMPC is not PBT.

Likely routes of exposure:

The substance is not classified as PBT therefore there route of exposure is not relevant.
