Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with point 9.4, Column 2 (Specific rules for adaptation from Column 1), Annex IX of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, studies investigating the effects on terrestrial organisms do not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. The identified uses of the substance are not likely to result in exposure to soil. Furthermore, as the substance has a low potential for adsorption (log Pow < 1.0) and is considered to be readily biodegradable, any significant direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is extremely unlikely. This is further specified in the ECHA 'Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment – Chapter R.7c: Endpoint specific guidance', where in the case of readily biodegradable substances which are not directly applied to the soil it is generally assumed that the substance will not enter the terrestrial environmental. Testing for this endpoint has therefore been omitted.
