Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. The REAXYS database reports three independent values for the density of the substance. Gallais 1956 (REAXYS 2014 A) report the density to be 0.7649 g/mL at 20 °C using water at 4 °C as reference. Eremenko 1970 (REAXYS 2014B) report the density to be 0.763 g/mL at 20 °C using water at 4 °C as reference and Kagan et al. 1962 (REAXYS 2014C) report the density to be 0.7642 g/mL at 20 °C using water at 4 °C as reference. Three independent literature sources report the density in the same range. A study which report the density to be 0.7644 g/ml at 20 °C confirm these values. All reported values are in the same range and thus regarded as reliable. A density of 0.7644 g/mL was chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment.
