Additional information

Ammonium carbamate was assessed to be readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria in a screening test on readily biodegradation (BASF, 2014).

Ammonia and ammonium ions, species which are present in aqueous solutions of ammonium carbamate, are easily mineralized to nitrates and nitrogen by several species of bacteria such as Nitrosomonas europea, Nitrosococcus, Nitrosospira. In conclusion, ammonium carbamate is expected to undergo rapid and complete mineralization in the environment.
