Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to the guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a section 7.1.11, the first step of the screening procedure is to examine the chemical structure and check for the presence of groups associated with explosive properties. If the substance does not contain any groups associated with explosivity then a negative result is likely. An expert review of the substance itself and available data concludes that trimagnesium bis(orthophosphate) is incapable of rapid decomposition with evolution of gases or release of heat and therefore it is considered that trimagnesium bis(orthophosphate) does not present a risk of explosion and as such further testing for explosive properties is therefore not scientifically justified.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on assessment of the molecular structure (presence of chemical groups associated with explosive properties) and expert judgement, the substance is considered to be non explosive for the purpose of classification and labelling according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP).
