Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
INHALATION: Bring the victim into the open and let him/her rest. In case of breathing difficulties seek medical treatment.
CONTACT WITH THE SKIN: Immediately remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash the affected skin with plenty of water and soap. Consult a physician if necessary.
CONTACT WITH THE EYES: In case of eye contact, rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Separate the eyelids with the fingers to make sure that the eyes are rinsed well. Consult a physician if necessary.
INGESTION: If swallowed, give 3-4 glasses of water but do not induce vomiting. If vomiting does occur, give fluids again. Get medical attention to
determine if vomiting or evacuation of stomach is necessary.
Fire-fighting measures
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide, appropriate powder or foam extinguishers
SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE : The thermal decomposition of the product may produce toxic fumes and cause intoxication. Hazardous decomposition or combustion products: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides NOx.
ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS: For single units (packages): No special requirements needed. For larger amounts (multiple packages/pallets) of product: Since toxic, corrosive or flammable vapours might be evolved from fires involving the product and associated packaging, self contained breathing apparatus a full protective equipment are recommended for fire fighters. (Full facial mask with “Universal” filter). If possible, contain and collect fire fighting water for later disposal.
Accidental release measures
Wear protective clothing, protective glasses, rubber boots and heavy-duty rubber gloves.
Wear an independent respirator. Evacuate the area and aerate the zone contaminated by the spilt product after cleaning it away completely.
Avoid forming clouds of dust/powder.
Do not allow the product to enter water or the soil. Prevent it from entering the drains or sewers. Use suitable containers for preventing environmental pollution.
Immediately contact emergency personnel. Evacuate and ventilate area. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Clean up spills or
leak immediately. Wash the contaminated area with water then absorb with a inert material (vermiculite, dry sand, earth, etc) and place in a closed chemical waste container for disposal.
Handling and storage
The substance is only used in a synthesis process to produce an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (A.P.I.).
See attached file in section 13 for Information on details of the risk management measures applied at the site in order to achieve strictly controlled conditions.
Use suitable personal protection devices including certified respirators, protective safety glasses and compatible gloves resistant against chemical agents. Wash yourself with care after each handling operation. Never eat, drink or smoke during handling. Safety shower and washing stations for rinsing eyes must be provided.
Store in a dark, dry and well-ventilated storage area at room temperature. Keep container tightly closed when not in use or empty.
Pack the product in double polythene bags, individually sealed and store in cardboard bins fitted with an aluminium safety locking ring.

Exposure controls / personal protection
EYE/ FACE PROTECTION: Wear protective glasses (EN 166) during the execution of any industrial type of operations. If necessary, wear a protective face shield.
SKIN PROTECTION : Use work overalls and/or coat, or dustproof overalls in Tyvek with hood for industrial type operations.
HAND PROTECTION: Wear Nitrile or rubber gloves (neoprene). Minimum thickness of gloves: 1.2 mm. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of the EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Respiratory protection is not required. Where protection is requested wear an FFP1 dustproof mask or a Respirator connected to the air supply (if necessary, use a mask with an P1 type filter EN143).
Avoid dispersion in the environment.
Stability and reactivity
Stable for approx. 8 months in normal conditions of storing (room temperature, relative humidity).
Disposal considerations
Work in compliance with the national and local laws in force.
