The LC50 detected in acute toxicity testing of 4 -methylanisole in fish (Leuciscus idus) an LC50 of 68.2 mg/l was detected. In Daphnia magna an EC50 of 27 mg/l was observed. In algae (Scenedesmus subspicatus) an EC50 >500 mg/l based on the growth rate was determined.

In a test on activated sludge an EC50 >1000 mg/l was determined after 180 minutes.
