Description of key information

Toxicity to birds: 35-day feeding trial in Japanese quail - Malic acid administered at dietary concentrations of 400, 800 and 1200 mg/kg appeared reasonably tolerated. Positive treatment related effects were apparent on body weight gain and feed consumption.
