Estimation of partition coefficient for perfluorinated chemicals by QSAR approaches is of limited utility. Partition coefficient of perfluorotripropyl amines (PTBA) was addressed by readacross using category members perfluoroheptanes (PFHp, CAS# 1064698-16-3) and perfluorotributyl amines (PTBA, CAS# 1064698-37-8). Water solubility is intimately related to partition coefficient. Since PFHp and PTBA have water solubilities bracketing PTPA, they provide the best estimate of the range of partition coefficient for PTPA.
