Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Fresh water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
100 mg/L

Additional information

A study was performed to assess the acute toxicity of the test material, Everzol Yellow GSP, to Daphnia magna. The method followed that described in the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals (1984) No 202, "Daphnia sp, Acute Immobilisation Test and Reproduction Test" referenced as Method C.2 of Commission Directive 92/69/EEC (which constitutes Annex V of Council Directive 67/548/EEC).

Procedures

Following a preliminary range-finding study, forty daphnids (4 replicates of 10 animals) were exposed to an aqueous dispersion of the test material at a concentration of 100 mg/L for 48 hours under static test conditions. Immobilisation and any adverse reactions to exposure were recorded after 24 and 48 hours.

Results

The 48-Hour EC50for the test material to Daphnia magna based on nominal test concentrations was greater than 100 mg/L and correspondingly the No Observed Effect Concentration was greater than or equal to 100 mg/L.

Analysis of the test solutions at 0 and 48 hours showed the measured test concentrations to be near nominal and so the results are based on nominal test concentrations only.

EC50 > 100 mg/L (48 h)

NOEL > 100 mg/L

The test substance is not considered to be harmful to Daphnia.
