- Remarks on result:
- other: No data for organic carbon
- Details on results (HPLC method):
- - Retention times of reference substances used for calibration: Acetanilide 3.556 min, Nitrobenzene 4.170 min, Naphthalene 5.154 min, 2-Methylnaphthalene 5.785 min, Anthracene 7.864 min, DDT 13.435 min.
- Average retention data for test substance: 4.442 min - Conclusions:
- Rikabinol HB was found to have a log10Koc value of 2.1.
Reference
A calibration plot of log10k versus log10Koc was constructed for the reference standards. The logarithm of the capacity factor for the test substance was then calculated and the log10Koc value was determined by interpolation.
Rikabinol HB was thus determined to have a log10Koc value of 2.1 (equivalent Koc value of 140).
Description of key information
Rikabinol HB was found to have a log10Koc value of 2.1.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Koc at 20 °C:
- 140
Additional information
The adsorption coefficient of HBPA was determined (Huntingdon Life Sciences, 2012, Study MOG0004) using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The procedure was designed to be compatible the EC Method C.19 and the OECD test guidelines 121, and was conducted in compliance with GLP.
A solution of HBPA (approximately 0.5 g/l in HPLC mobile phase) was prepared and chromatographed in duplicate.
HBPA was determined to have a log10Koc value of 2.1 (equivalent Koc value of 140).
