Additional information

Currently, no study is available for isopulegol to sufficiently cover the endpoint repeated dose toxicity.

In a 14 day feeding study with limitations in documentation an endpoints assessed, diets containing isopulegol at 0.5% or 1% or unsupplemented diet (control) were provided to male Wistar rats (Imaizumi 1985). In this study, relative weights of the liver and concentrations of cholesterol,  A-1 and triglyceride were reported to be significantly increased in the 1% isopulegol dose group. According to the authors, the concentration of 0.5% in the diet was calculated to provide an average daily intake of 250 mg isopulegol/kg bw/d.
