Tetrahydro-3-methylfuran is a stable, non-reactive and non-oxidizing volatile and flammable organic liquid with a measured Flash Point of <4.5°C and a vapor pressure of 9.6 kPa at 25 °C. It is not classified as dangerous / hazardous with regards to explosiveness, reactivity, or as an oxidizer according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 or Directive 67/548/EEC. It is typically placed on the market with approximately 400 ppm butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) added to prevent peroxide formation.
