Conclusion on classification

Biodegradation and bioaccumulation are not applicable endpoints for silicic acid, lithium salt as an inorganic substance. The acute non-classification follows from acute aquatic toxicity > 1 mg/l (even > 100 mg/L) in species from three trophic levels. Besides, one valid NOEC is available for algae with > 1 mg/L. Hence, silicic acid, lithium salt does not need to be classified and labelled as environmental hazard according to Directive 67/548/EEC, Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 (CLP) and Regulation (EU) No. 286/2011 (2nd ATP).
