Description of key information

No information is available for the technical isomeric mixture itself. But the half-life of 2-isopropylnaphthalene taken as supporting substance was determined under irradiation with simulated sunlight.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life in air:
30 h

Additional information

Photolysis of 2-isopropylnaphthalene was investigated by irradiation of test material coated to the inner surface of pyrex glas tubes for various time periods with a high pressure mercury lamp (100 W) at wavelength above 290 nm (simulated sunlight). Half-life of decomposition was determined to be between 20 and 30 hours.
