Additional information

According to OECD Guideline 301 B (Ready Biodegradability: CO2 Evolution Test), the test substance is readily biodegradable.

The general experience is that a substance passing a test for ready biodegradability may under most environmental conditions be rapidly degraded, therefore phototransformation in sediment and soil is considered to be not a relevant environmental degradation mechanism. The calculated (QSAR AOPWIN) half life by phototransfromation in air for 1,4 diaminobutane is approximately 2 hours. Based on this information rapid degradation in the environment is expected.
