ABIOTIC DEGRADATION

DIRECT PHOTOLYSIS in Air, Water and Soil

The registration substance does not absorb light >290 nm (ozone band) and therefore a direct photolysis in air, water and soil will not occur.

INDIRECT PHOTOLYSIS in Air, Water and Soil

The registration substance may undergo OH radical induced indirect photolysis. The Half-life of the indirect photolysis can be estimated with US EPA AOPWIN Program calculating a low degradation half-life of 0.2d (12-hr day, 1.5E6 OH/cm3).

HYDROLYSIS

The registration substance has no functional groups which could be hydrolyzed under environmental relevant conditions e.g. 12 deg Celsius and pH range 4-9. As the substance is readily biodegradable in an OECD 301D Closed bottle test IUCLID Chapter 5.2.1) a hydrolysis study need not to be conducted (REACH Regulation 2006/1907 Annex VIII, Column 2, 9.2.2.1).
