Additional information

The toxicity of 4 -hydroxyacetophenone was tested on three fish species, the bluegill sunfish (Lepomis macrochirus), the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and sheapshead minnow (Cyprinodon variegatus), following the test guideline TSCA 797.1400, under semi-static (bluegill sunfish) or static (rainbow trout and sheepshead minnow) conditions for 96 hours. The lowest LC50 value 25 mg/L was obtained in a static test with rainbow trout. Bluegill sunfish and the sheepshead minnow were tested in semi-static systems, resulting to LC50 values of 88 mg/L and 77 mg/L, respectively (EnvironSystems, 1991).
