Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The toxicity of tetramethylthiuram disulfide (CAS No. 137-26-8) to Lemna gibba was investigated in a study conducted according to EPA OPPTS 850.4400: Aquatic Plant Toxicity Test using Lemna spp. Tiers I & II (1996), under GLP conditions. Lemna gibba was exposed to the test substance for 7 days within a static water regime. Tetramethylthiuram disulfide (CAS No. 137-26-8) water concentrations were analysed on day 0 and 7. Measured concentrations on Day 0 ranged from 69.6 - 115% of nominal concentrations and from 0% - 20.5% of nominal concentrations on Day 7. Concentration dependent effects on the frond production of Lemna gibba were observed, resulting in an IC50 (7 d) value of 1.6 a.i. mg/L (initial measured) and a NOAEC (7 d) of 0.057 mg a.i./L (initial measured).
