Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute toxic effects of tetramethylthiuram disulfide (CAS No. 137-26-8) to Daphnia magna were investigated. The key study was conducted according to OECD Guideline No. 202: Daphnia sp., Acute Immobilisation test (2004), under GLP conditions. After 48 hours of exposure to this substance, effects on daphnids mobility were observed at concentrations over 0.14 mg/L (NOEC), being the EC50 0.38 mg a.i./L. The results from the supporting studies were in the same range than those for the key study, except for one. This study was conducted for 96 hours and therefore, effects at lower concentrations were observed.
