GHS

General Information

Name:
Methacrylonitrile
Implementation:
EU
Remarks:
Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 states that harmonised classifications should be regarded as the minimum and, where a manufacturer or importer has access to data or other information that lead to classification in a more severe category, classification in the more severe category must be applied.
ACUTE INHALATION TOXICITY
The key study reports the LD50 for acute inhalation toxicity as 496 ppm in female rats and 398 ppm in male rats. The lowest (most conservative) value of 398 ppm is equivalent to 1092 mg/cubic metre or 1.09 mg/L, which leads to classification as acute toxicity - inhalation category 2.
