After evaporation or exposure to the air, the product will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes.

Additional information

The test item is an UVCB substance containing the reaction products emerging from the addition of 3 mol behenic acid to 1 mol of polyglycerol. Therefore, a representative structure was used in order to calculate a half-life in air. For this calculation a 24-hour day as well as a sensitizer-concentration (OH-radicals) of 500000 molecules/cm³ were assumed. The calculated rate constant of 132E-12 cm³/molecule-sec results in a half-life in the atmosphere of approx. 0.1 days (BASF SE 2013).
