Additional information

An experimental study, scored as Klimisch 1, was selected as a key study. It was performed in compliance with GLP according to OECD 106 test guideline. Under REACH, such study is not required because based on its physico-chemical properties, 2-methylglutaric acid was expected to have a low potential for adsorption (Log Kow < -1.3 at pH = 7 and 20°C). Furthermore, 2-methylglutaric acid is rapidly degradable. The study was nevertheless provided here because it was performed for the purpose of another regulation, a Chinese notification, which required the performance of this test in a Chinese laboratory.
