Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test item Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate to Daphnia magna was determined according to OECD-Guideline 202 (Vryenhoef, 2012). The semi-static test was conducted with nominal test item concentrations of 0, 1.0, 1.8, 3.2, 5.6, 10, 18, 32, 56 and 100 mg/L for 48 hours. Five test organisms were exposed to each test concentration in four parallels. Water quality parameters such as temperature, pH-value and O2-saturation were determined to be within the acceptable limits. Analysis of the test preparations at 0 and 24 hours and at 24 and 48 hours showed measured test concentrations in the range of 83% to 106% of nominal. Consequently, the results were based on nominal test concentrations. The EC50 after 48 hours was calculated as 4.6 mg/L (nominal).
