Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
UK GLP Monitoring Authority
Relative self-ignition temperature:
398 °C
Remarks on result:
other: Atmospheric pressure assumed.
Remarks:
at atm. press. of 1013.0 hPa

Initially on heating, the sample tracked the oven temperature until approximately 80 °C and 190 °C where two small endotherms were observed. The sample then returned to track the oven temperature until approximately 308 °C where a small exothermic event was observed.

The sample then returned to track the oven temperature until it reached its self-ignition temperature at 398 °C.

Description of key information

398 °C at 1013 hPa (EU A.16)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Atmospheric pressure not stated. 1013 hPa assumed.
