Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Biodegradation in water :

Based on level III fugacity model the half life period of 3-diethylaminophenol was estimated 3-diethylaminophenol was estimated to be 50% biodegradable in water in 38 days (half-life) indicating that 3-diethylaminophenol is readily biodegradable in water since the half life is less than the threshold of 40 days (to qualify the chemical as persistent).

Biodegradation in water and sediment :

Based on level III fugacity model the half life period of 3-diethylaminophenol was estimated. Half life period of 3-diethylaminophenol in water was observed to be 38 days while in sediment it is 340 days.Based on these half life values it is concluded that 3-diethylaminophenol is readily biodegradable in water where as it is non biodegradable in sediment. However, since there is no diffusion of the substance in the sediment as evident from the reported data (0% in sediment) and hence persistence in the sediment compartment is not likely to be critical. The supporting study also shows half life of 3-diethylaminophenol in water and Sediment to be 900 hrs (37.5 days) and 8100 hrs (337.5 days) respectively

Biodegradation in soil :

Based on level III fugacity model the half life period of 3-diethylaminophenol was estimated. Half life period of 3-diethylaminophenol in soil was observed to be 75 days (1800 hrs ). Based on these half life values it is concluded that 3-diethylaminophenol is not readily biodegradable (persistent) in soil since the half life period of 3-diethylaminophenol exceeds the criteria of 120 days (to qualify the chemical as persistent)
