Description of key information

Short term fish

Key study: Read-across approach from experimental data on the analogue substance MPKO: Test method OECD Guideline 203, GLP study. The 96h LC50 value for rainbow trout was determined to be > 117 mg/L while the NOEC was 117 mg/L and the LOEC was >117 mg/L. Therefore, It can be concluded that the substance is not acutely toxic for fish.

Short term invertebrates

Key study: Read-across approach from experimental data on the analogue substance MPKO: Test method OECD Guideline 202, GLP study. The 48h EC50 (immobilisation) value forDaphnia magnawas determined to be >117 mg/L, while the NOEC was >= 117 mg/L. Therefore, it can be concluded that the substance is not acutely toxic for invertebrates.

Short term algae

Key study: Read-across approach from experimental data on the analogue substance MPKO: Test method OECD Guideline 201, GLP study. The EbC50 (biomass) was determined to be 58 mg/L (95% CL: 55 -64 mg/L) and the ErC50 (growth rate) was 103 mg/L (95% CL: 84 -117 mg/L). The NOEC for both biomass and growth rate was 37 mg/L. Therefore, it can be concluded that the substance is not toxic for algae.

Toxicity to microorganisms

Key study: Read-across approach from experimental data on the analogue substance OS1600: Test method OECD Guideline 301B, GLP study. The NOEC was determined to be 22.2 mg/L since in the toxicity control with the analogue substance more than 25% degradation occurred within 14 days (32 % based on ThCO2). It can be considered that the test substance does not inhibit microbial activity.
