The acute toxicity of the test substance on Daphnia magna was measured in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 202, with analytically verified test concentrations. The EC50 value was determined to be greater than 100 mg/L (BASF AG 96/0251/50/1, 1996).


In a supporting study with Daphnia magna and according to OECD 202, a LC50 of 235 mg/L (nominal) was determined (Rohm and Haas, 2007). This study was conducted without chemical analysis, however, from the available studies on fish and aquatic invertebrates, conducted with analytical monitoring (BASF AG, 1996, 96/0251/50/1; Rohm and Haas, 2007, R2007NC003-01, BASF AG, 1996, 96/0251/50/1), it can be concluded that the test substance is rather stable in static test systems for at least 96 hours. Moreover, the stability of the test substance in the test medium is considered to be stable over the exposure period based on a sufficient water solubility of 14 g/L (BASF, 2012, 11L00357), a low Henry's Law constant of 0.933 Pa*m3/mol (HENRYWIN v3.20, EPI Suite v 4.11, BASF, 2022) and a low adsorption potential (log Kow = 1.8, BASF, 2012, 11L00357; log Koc = 1.0, MCI model of KOCWIN v2.00, EPISuite v4.11, BASF SE, 2022).


Based on these data, the test substance is considered with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates.
