Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Workers - Hazard for the eyes

Additional information - workers

In the absence of any findings relating to reproductive or developmental endpoints in appropriate screening tests, the critical health effect is considered to be repeated dose toxicity. For the inhalation route, the DNEL long-term, local is lower than that for DNEL long-term systemic. 3-(trichlorosilyl)propiononitrile is not classified as mutagenic, carcinogenic or sensitising.

The DNELs used for risk characterisation are therefore:

DNEL (long-term, inhalation): 9.8 mg/m3

DNEL (long-term, dermal): 1.4 mg/kg/day

Qualitative risk characterisation for corrosive effects following dermal exposure will also be required
