In accordance with Column 2 adaption statement of REACH Annex lX, information requirement 9.2.1.3, soil simulation testing does not need to conducted as there is no direct or indirect exposure to soil for the test substance. Direct and indirect exposure to soil is unlikely and an adsorption is not expected since the substance has a log Koc value less or equal than 3. 1-Ethylpiperidine (CAS 766-09-6) has a log Koc of 2.4 (measured; BAYER AG 2006/006/06). Moreover, in accordance with column 2 of Annex IX, the study does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. 1-Ethylpiperidine (CAS 766-09-6) is readily biodegradable (BASF, 2012; Study no. 27G0271/11G177).
