Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The information on the log Kow is sufficient for the PBT assessment, as the value is below the cut-off value of 4.5 used for screening. As the substance is not readily biodegradable and therefore already classified as a chronic hazard to the aquatic environment, the available information is also sufficient for classification and labelling. For the chemical safety assessment, the bioconcentration factor (BCF) for aquatic/sediment organisms is estimated using the Veith relationship which is also incorporated in EUSES and which is applicable for substances with a log Kow up to 6: log BCF = 0.85 log Kow - 0.70. With a log Kow value of 3.8, the predicted BCF is 339 L/kg ww. Using this predicted BCF, the chemical safety assessment does not show a need for further refinement. Therefore, the available information is deemed sufficient for the PBT assessment, classification and labelling and the chemical safety assessment and no further testing is required.
