Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

96-h EC50 (growth rate): >890 µg/L (green alga, OECD 201, Softcheck, 2010)
96-h NOEC (growth rate): 420 µg/L (green alga, OECD 201, Softcheck, 2010)
96-h EC50 (growthrate): 640 µg/L(saltwater, marine diatom, OECD 20, Softcheck, 2011)
96-h NOEC (growthrate): 200 µg/L(saltwater, marine diatom, OECD 20, Softcheck, 2011)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for marine water algae:
640 µg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
420 µg/L
EC10 or NOEC for marine water algae:
200 µg/L

Additional information

Two studies (one with a freshwater and one with a saltwater species) are available for this endpoint. All are considered to be relevant, reliable, adequate for risk assessment, and adequate for classification purposes. The EC50 and NOEC results (for freshwater and saltwater species separately) are carried forward for risk assessment purposes. These tests with algae are also considered to be long-term tests.

Remark: due to a limitation of the IUCLID system it was not possible to enter a ">" sign into the key value field above (EC50/LC50 for freshwater algae). Therefore the field was left empty.
