Additional information

BNMA is a clear colourless liquid at 20°C and 1013 hPa with an ester-like odour.

The melting point of BNMA is reported to be -22°C at 1025 hPa.

The boiling point of BNMA is reported to be 243°C at 1025 hPa.

The relative density of BNMA is reported to be 1.038 at 20°C.

In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation annex VII, a granulometry test does not need to be conducted as the substance is a liquid.

The vapour pressure of BNMA is reported to be 0.03 hPa at 20°C.

The n-Octanol/Water partition coefficient (log Kow) of BNMA is reported to be 3.1 at ambient temperature.

The water solubility of BNMA is reported to be 189.6 mg/L at 20°C.

The flash point of BNMA is reported to be > 100°C.

The auto-ignition temperature of BNMA is reported to be 420°C at 1013 hPa.

According to REACH Regulation (Annex XI, 1.), the study on flammability does not need to be conducted if the available data are sufficient for assessment. For BNMA, a test on flash point is available. Pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not expected based on a consideration of the structure of the substance.

In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation annex VII, explosive properties testing does not need to be conducted as there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties in the molecule. BNMA is non-explosive.

In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation annex VII, oxidising properties testing does not need to be conducted on the basis of chemical structure.

In accordance with column 1 of REACH regulation annex IX, stability in organic solvents testing is not required as stability of the substance is not considered critical. The test substance has no particular reactivity towards typical solvents and is not used in solution.

In accordance with column 2 of REACH regulation annex IX, dissociation constant testing does not need to be conducted as there are no dissociable groups.

The static viscosity of BNMA is reported to be 2.51 mm²/s at 20°C and 1.71 mm²/s at 40°C.
