In a valid Ames test and a HPRT test Katalysator WAZ 5596-B was negative. An in-vitro cytogenetic study does not need to be conducted according REACH Annex VIII as Katalysator WAZ 5596-B is classified as carcinogenic category 2 because the catalyst contains alpha-chlorotoluene specified in section 1.2.
