DSD-DPD

General information

Name:
erbium zirconium oxide
Not classified
Status:
67/548/EEC self classification
Remarks:
Because erbium oxide (CAS 12061-16-4) and zirconium dioxide (CAS 1314-23-4) are both non-classified, non-hazardous compounds, it was decided to include both data for zirconium dioxide and erbium oxide in the dossier for some critical endpoints and to conclude on the properties of erbium zirconium oxide based on this information, instead of performing new tests with erbium zirconium oxide for all required endpoints. Based on the outcome of the comparison of these critical properties of erbium oxide and zirconium dioxide, it was considered sufficient to cover other endpoints by information on zirconium dioxide alone. Only for some physicochemical endpoints (appearance, relative density, water solubility, particle size distribution), data on erbium zirconium oxide were included. Justification for this approach is given in the read across justification document attached to IUCLID Section 13.
