Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
GLP compliance:
no
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions
Remarks:
The sample showed no exothermic reactions. After the measurement, approx. 75% of the basket was filled with a black, matt residue.

The sample showed no exothermic reactions.

After the measurement, approx. 75% of the basket was filled with a black, matt residue.

Conclusions:
Reactive Red 141 does not undergo spontaneous combustion when tested according to EC A.16.
Executive summary:

A certain volume of Reactive Red 141 was placed in an oven at room temperature; the temperature/time curve relating to conditions in the center of the sample was recorded while the

temperature of the oven was increased to 400 °C, or to the melting point if lower, at a rate of 0.5 K/min. For the purpose of this test, the temperature of the oven at which the sample temperature reached

400 °C by self-heating is called the self-ignition temperature.
