Additional information

According to REACH Regulation (Annex VIII, 9.3.1, column 2), the study on adsorption/desorption does not need to be done if based on physico-chemical properties (e.g. low n-octanol/water partition coefficient log Pow) a low soil sorption is to be expected or based on the biodegradation the substance itself and his relevant degradation products break down quickly. L-Tryptophan has a log Pow=-1.06 and proved to be readily biodegradable. Testing is therefore not necessary.
